Oxymetholone (also known as Anadrol and Anadrol) is a synthetic anabolic steroid developed in the 1960s by Syntex Pharmaceuticals. Anapolon was initially developed as a medicine to treat osteoporosis and anemia (anemia) as well as to stimulate muscle growth in malnourished and debilitated patients. Oxymetholone has been approved by the FDA for human use. Subsequently, non-steroidal drugs were created to effectively treat anemia and osteoporosis, so Anapolon’s popularity declined and in 1993, Syntex decided to discontinue the production of the drug in the same way as many other manufacturers. However, oxymetholone has always remained in medicine as new research has shown Anadrol to be effective in treating HIV patients.

Anadrol comes in 50 mg tablets and is one of the most potent steroids available, although the drug may cause some side effects common to all anabolic steroids. Since 2013, the oily solution of oxymetholone (50 mg / ml) has become widespread.

  • Reduces sex hormone binding globulin – thanks to this, the action of other anabolic hormones (apart from your own testosterone) in combination is stronger and faster.
  • increases the content of erythrocytes in the blood, increases immunity.

Combined courses

Oxymetholone works well with some injectables, but should not be combined with 17-alpha-alkylated steroids as this will increase the burden on the liver. Anapolon is often used for the so-called “Quick start” (the anabolic effect begins to manifest itself very quickly), providing significant gains in strength and weight already at the very early stages of the course, while the remaining drugs stack gradually increase the concentration.

The combination allows for a better effect, because oxymetholone reduces the concentration of sex hormones binding globulin, increasing the free fraction of other hormones, while acting as a synergist for a very large number of drugs. Since Anadrol has a low affinity for androgen receptors (binds poorly to them), other highly androgenic hormones will be able to have the full effect by interacting with these receptors without competing with Anadrol.

  • To increase muscle mass, Anadrol is combined with Testosterone, Boldenone, Primobolan but not with Nandrolone and Trenbolone as this can lead to a more pronounced effect of progestin.
  • In order to increase endurance indicators, it is often used together with various testosterone esters. A very effective combination is the combination of Oxymetholone with Stanozolol suspension, while athletes notice a rapid increase in strength. However, the high risk of injury in this suit should be taken into account, especially for people with chronic injuries.
  • Oxymetholone is practically not used for drying and relieving stress due to its high water retention properties.
    Performance-level bodybuilders often use a single dose of 100-250 mg of Oxymetholone on the day they take the stage. This gives the athlete the fullness of the muscles.

Side effects of oxymetholone

The 17-alpha-alkyl group in the drug’s structure allows it to bypass the liver without being destroyed, but this makes Anadrol toxic to the liver. The safest dose is 50 mg per day (or less).

It should also be noted that Oxymetholone is not converted to estrogen, however very often it can cause fluid buildup, gynecomastia, increased blood pressure and more. It should be noted that oxymetholone exhibits relatively weak progestogenic activity (compared to the progestogens nandrolone and trenbolone).
